2,000 days

Nearly 90 percent of brain growth takes place in a child’s first 2,000 days, long before he or she steps foot into kindergarten. Healthy brain development requires developmentally appropriate, positive, and intentional interaction. When children have access to stimulating learning environments and compassionate relationships with their parents and caregivers, their brains develop the connections necessary for success.

Who We Offer

Beaufort County Partnership for Children was founded April 16, 1996. It was not funded by the state until 1998. Hyde County Partnership for Children dissolved June 30, 2004 and merged with Beaufort to form the Beaufort-Hyde Partnership for Children on July 1, 2004. The majority of our funding comes through the North Carolina Smart Start Initiative and North Carolina Pre-K Program. The Beaufort/Hyde Partnership now funds a wide range of children’s services.
Strengthening partnerships with families and the community so that all children have the opportunity to succeed in school and be prepared to contribute to our social and economic future.
We envision a community committed to the health, safety, happiness, and education of all of our children and their families.
We believe our organization’s success depends on the many contributions our volunteers make each year. Volunteers supplement and enhance our daily work, assist with planning and strategic direction, and help out at special events. We aim to match each volunteer’s unique set of skills and interests with opportunities that best meet their needs and desires.

We invite you to join our volunteer program, and our fight to advance the education, health, and well-being of Beaufort County.

Our Impact on the Community

A large and growing body of research shows that investing in high-quality early childhood programs yields benefits for children, schools, and communities. Recent brain research challenges the notion that the genes we are born determine our brain development.

The CCPT is a consortium of mandated members, representing local agencies and organizations who are committed to addressing the child protection needs within our county. Annually, a report is made to you reflecting the work of the Team, as state law dictates.
